How To Teach Your Pet Dog to Kiss?

Step 1 : Smear peanut butter or your dog's fave treat on your cheek (you can try your hand too if you're not fond of doggy breath.

Step 2: Carry your pup close to your face, but far enough so he can't lick your cheek yet.

Step 3: Say the command : Kiss!

Step 4: Bring him closer to your face so he can kiss you

Step 5 : Once he does, praise him by patting his head and saying, "Good Boy" and give him his reward. Repeat a few times.

Step 6 : After a few successful tries, try giving the command with a clean cheek to see if he knows the command. If not, keep training and be patient.

Remember, you have to be consistent with your commands. If you sue "KISS" the first time you try this trick, use it for the next sessions( not "LICK" or "EAT"). Otherwise, your dog will get confused.

Teach your dog how to sit

Step 1 - While your dog is on the floor, kneel beside him and hold a treat or toy slightly above his head so he'll have to look up a bit to see it. Don't drop it or give it to him even if he tries to grab or eat it.

Step 2 - Say the command:SIT!

Step 3- Keep the treat just above his eye when dogs look up, their bodies become drawn upwards and their butts go down, hitting the floor (in sitting position). Wait for this to happen, moving the treat higher if you need to. Don't force his butt down but tapping it gently may help.

Step 4 - As soon as his butt touches the floor, praise him amd give the reward.

Step 5- Keep practicing then try telling him to sit without a treat.

Time - Dogs learn by memory, so the more you practice, the more he remembers. Set aside a few sessions a day for training. It's better to keep your sessions short, around five minutes each to keep him from getting bored.

Rewards - Could be his fave toy or his fave treat. Most dogs love cheese or peanut butter, but it's better if you ask your vet first about safe snacks for your pup.

Make training Fun, Always keep the mood light and happy don't get mad if he doesn't do what he's supposed to do. If you always scold him during training time, he'll start to think of training as a negative experience you can bet he'll hide from you next time you call him for a session!. Training should be fun bonding experience for you and your dog where he gets lots of praises and treats . That way, he'll look forward to it .
